Military Training Specialist (Center of Excellence) Manager / Instructional Systems Designer - La Plata, MD 20646

Security Clearance: Secret Clearance. The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required.

Description:

Seeking an exceptional Military Training Specialist / Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) with a very strong training program management support background, as well as an understanding of the DoD acquisition process, to support the needs of the client and lead the firm’s Training Center of Excellence (CoE). Specific experience as it relates to Warfare systems, CREW support or test experience (CREW or IED) to develop, implement, and oversee the EW course and transfer knowledge to CREW operators on how to use the improvised explosive jamming technology is helpful.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Learning & Development processes, manage multiple enterprise-wide projects, and coordinate with external suppliers and course developers to successfully deliver courses and ensure receipt of critical training
  • Become familiar with specific CREW systems and with the overall CREW program and training strategies.
  • Provide instructional systems reviews to manage content and adherence to DoD standards and instructions.
  • Provide excellent customer service skills to support client needs and expectations; Has proven experience in dealing with customers
  • Attend onsite meetings as required and in support of assigned direct client, at the Indian Head PMS 408 office.
  • Ensure that the proper training activities are taking place at the appropriate times during the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate complete competency in all aspects of DoD training processes in accordance with MIL-HDBK 29612 and other relevant instructions.
  • Develops the training acquisition strategy for assigned CREW programs and helps support the client to ensure that DoD required training documentation is completed at the appropriate time.
  • Defends the PMS 408 training program strategy at program reviews, conferences, and other functions and provides higher level management with status and decision information on assigned programs.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and Masters Degrees are preferred;
  • Experience in training operations and training development as well as program and curriculum management and design, and a broad understanding of the needs of adult learners
  • Experience in Electronic Warfare (CREW and Counter IED Defeat device systems), or any electronic warfare knowledge or any testing experience, is helpful.
  • Knowledge of the ISD model and adult learning, as well as DoD training processes and procedures is required.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of DoD and/or navy specific military training standards and training management
  • An extensive project management background will be valued highly as well- ability to work on short notice project deadlines is strongly desired.
  • Familiarization with distance learning products and methods is desired.
  • This is a customer facing position and requires an individual with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, in addition to poise, effective time management, a hands-on approach, and a positive attitude.
